A charming pair of dining utensils dating back to the late 17th-Century / early 18th-Century. Comprising a knife and fork.
Most probably South German origin. A similar pair is held in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum, New York, USA, Gifted by R. Stuyvesant, 1891, Object Number: 91.16.53.
The knife with engraved steel blade and the fork with twin tines. The handles made from bone with inlaid mother-of-pearl and white metal decoration.
Provenance - Acquired directly from a private German collection.
Condition - Please refer to the images. There is surface wear commensurate with age. The bone handles of each utensil have minor losses to the inlay. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
