A small and desirable English antique oak gateleg table, circa 1650.
Peg-joined construction.
The oval top with two fold-down leaves is supported on a frame with two open/close gates, rare decorative arcaded supporting aprons at each end with carved "dental" design, bobbin turned legs, united by stretchers and ball feet.
The table is completely original and one of the best we have found of this size for a long time.
The table would ideally function as a tea table or occasional table.
Provenance - Sourced from the North-East of England.
Condition - Please refer to the images. There is some surtace wear commensurate with age. All joints are sound. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
