A charming antique iron and brass-bound dome-topped box dating back to the early 17th-century.
Italian origin.
Constructed from wood, with traces of its original fabric covering. The decorative metal bands are held together and joined to the carcass by way of floral-shaped rivets. The lid opens to reveal an interior lined with red paper.
The box comes complete with a functioning period antique iron lock and key.
Provenance - Acquired from a private collection in the USA.
Condition - Please refer to the images. There is significant surface wear and losses commensurate with age. The box remains functional. The lid opens and closes with ease. A further detailed condition report is available upon request
