A complete set of 18th-century English steel meat skewers, presented on a decorative hanging wire wall plate. Comprising 19 skewers of varying lengths, this set exemplifies the practical elegance of Georgian-era kitchenalia.
Each skewer is hand-forged in steel with tapering shafts and looped ends for suspension. The accompanying wire plate allows for vertical display, suggesting both domestic utility and visual impact. These sets were commonly used in hearth cooking, spit roasting, and food preparation in manor kitchens and taverns.
The skewers retain surface patina and signs of age, with some wear and minor irregularities consistent with use. A rare survival in complete form — ideal for collectors of culinary antiques, English metalware, or historical domestic tools.
Provenance: England. 18th century.
