A rare survival from the late 17th century, this carved oak child’s doll dates to circa 1680 and is English in origin. Sculpted with stylised anatomical features and a sense of quiet presence, the figure retains a remarkable sense of character despite its minimalist form. The carving is naïve yet evocative, with visible tool marks and a rich patina that speaks to centuries of handling and age.
