A hand-carved oak panel dating to the 18th century, depicting a classical biblical scene from the Book of Genesis. The composition features a robed female figure—likely Eve—seated and extending her hand toward the Tree of Knowledge, around which a serpent is coiled. This moment captures the pivotal act of temptation, rendered with expressive detail and symbolic gravity.
French in origin.
The carving is rich in texture, with relief work that responds beautifully to candlelight or directional lighting, enhancing its narrative depth. The panel can be mounted for wall display, offering both devotional and decorative appeal.

Provenance - From a private Norfolk collection
Condition - Good antique condition with good patination. There is a minor loss to the bottom left corner of the panel (right of image 1). The panel is structurally sound and displays well.
