A pair of mid-19thC antique turners chairs of Continental origin.
Made for a mother and daughter, dated 1843, the names within an oval polychrome cartouche below a crown.
Both chairs comprise a cresting rail with the names and date of the mother and daughter inscribed. The rails are flanked by a pair of upright supports with decorative finials over bobbin turned arms, plank seat and four turned legs united by turned stretchers.
Provenance - Originally in the collection of the proprietor of Holt Antiques at Walsingham Mill.
Condition - Please refer to the images. Each seat has evidence of very minor repairs. One arm rest of one chair has been replaced historically. There is wear to the painted carving with the names and date. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
Size - each approx. 60 cm wide x.104 cm high and 96 cm high respectively (23 1/2" x 41" and 38 3/4")
