A mid 19th-Century English antique cast iron door stop (also known as a door porter) in the form of lion passant (unusual in that a lion passant is depicted with its right foreleg raised rather than its left as in this example).
Presented, as stated, with his left foreleg raised, his tail bent in the form of an "S" scroll. Supported overall on an iron stepped base, decorated with scrolls, fruit and foliage.
Provenance - Unknown.
