A mid 19th Century English antique brass tinder box. The lid with single candle socket and bearing the Coat of Arms for Clifton College, Bristol, England.
The lift opens to reveal a void interior. It does however retain its original striker and lint cloth.
Condition - the surface has oxidized. There is some surface wear commensurate with age.
Size: Diameter 15cm (including carry handle) x height 10cm (to the top of the sconce) (6" x 4")

Clifton College is a co-educational independent school in the suburb of Clifton in the city of Bristol in South West England, founded in 1862.
The school was also the headquarters of the US army in Britain during part of the Second World War. General Omar Bradley used the school's buildings as a staff office from October to November 1944.
