Hispano-Moresque pottery, often lustred, was made originally by craftsmen in Spain from the 15thC and made mainly in Eastern Spain, particularly around Valencia.
This early example, probably made circa 1640, made as a decorative baluster-shaped vase has a circular neck rim and four carry-handles. The surface is decorated in tin-glaze and lustre and depicts stylised birds and foliage.
This is a charming and historic piece of decorative pottery.
Provenance - Unknown.
Condition - Please refer to the images. The neck rim has minor traces of restoration and there are minor frits to the base. The vase displays well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
