A wonderfully patinated mid-17th-century English oak centre table, showcasing classic period construction and understated elegance. The plank top with cleated ends rests over a plain apron, supported by robust legs joined with pegged mortise-and-tenon construction — a hallmark of 17th-century English joinery.
Date: Circa 1650–1670
Origin/Provenance: England. 17th century.
Material: Solid oak
Construction: Peg-joined; cleated plank top
Condition: Excellent for age; rich patina; structurally sound. There are three later (but minor) timber fillets to the underside of the plank top where it joins the top of the legs. These are not obtrusive
Size: Width 40 1/2" x Depth 27" x Height 26 1/2" (103 cm x 68.5 cm x 67.3 cm)
