18th-Century primitive antique pig bench constructed from elm and other indigenous timbers.
English origin. Market fresh and from a private North Norfolk property where it has been in the same family since it was made.
With an elm plank seat and four splayed legs, three hewn from tree branches (the fourth leg has been replaced).
A charming rustic piece.
Provenance - Acquired directly from a private property in North Norfolk.
Condition - Please refer to the images. The elm seatboard appears to have been recycled from an old floor. The legs have been formed from branches by a bodger. Three have their original wedges which secure them to the seat board. One leg has been replaced historically. There are signs of old, minor worm activity however, this is long since gone and has been treated as a precautionary measure.
