A charming late 18th-Century English antique copper lipped jug. Also known as a pitcher or measure.
With a rolled and lipped-spout over a flared body, supported on a raised circular rim with rolled outer edge. The body bears an applied copper label stamped with "Gallon". The spout bears a lead duty stamp for George III. The scrolled handle is riveted to both the spout and main body.
Provenance - Sourced from a private collection is Poringland, Norfolk, England.
Condition - This is as untouched as you will find. Please refer to the images. The body has gained a nice-age related patina. There are no repairs. The flared body does have a few minor-age related dents however these are not detrimental to the jug which does display very well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request
