A charming late-18th Century Welsh antique milking stool of primitive country-made form. Made for a child.
With a shaped slabbed top (possibly made from a recycled cheese press during the 18thC hence the centre drainage hole), and three splayed legs.
Made from what appears to be elm. It retains its original stain/paint. The seat board has the most wonderful tool marks on the underside!
Provenance - Unknown.
Condition - surface wear as per the images. The stool has had worm historically but this is long since gone. The stool has also been treated as a precautionary measure. It sound and ready to be used. A further condition report is available upon request.
