A charming late 17th-century English antique leather blackjack of elongated form with a carry handle.

Early leather blackjacks and bombards are a very English tradition where tankards and jugs were formed on a mould from wet leather and hand-stitched together. Later examples show evidence of mechanisation with machine-made stitching.

Provenance: Private UK-based collection.

Condition: As per the images. Wear is commensurate with age. There is a slight perforation at the base (please refer to the image of this). A further condition report is available upon request.
