A large turned lignum vitae mortar dating back to the early 17th-century.
Turned on a pole lathe with decorative banding to the external surface.
Lacking its pestle.
Provenance - From a Private Norwich-based collection.
Condition - As per the images. There are some minor age-related losses to the upper rim and a very small chip to the inner rim. This mortar displays very well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
