A large turned mahogany mortar dating back to the 18th-century.

English origin.

Turned on a pole lathe with a circular lip, large bowl and supported on a raised circular foot with decorative banding to the external surface. The underside of the foot bears the stamp "GRL", possibly the makers mark.

Lacking its pestle.

Provenance  - From a Private Lincolnshire-based collection.

Condition - As per the images. There are some minor age-related marks to the outer surface. This mortar displays very well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.

Size - Height 22.75 cm x Diameter 19.75 cm (9" x 7 3/4")
