A large mid-to-late 19th-Century English antique brass Gothic Revival pricket candlestick.
The stepped circular base rises into a turned column shaft composed of graduated knops, leading to a broad circular drip pan with crenellated (castle-like) edge and a central pricket, supported on three cast brass feet in the form of heraldic lions sejant, each detailed with stylised manes and paws, referencing medieval ecclesiastical ornamentation, typical of the Gothic Revival period.
