We don't usually offer contemporary pieces for sale however we couldn't resist this impressive burr yew turned wooden bowl, made in Cumbria, England, home of The Lake District and adopted home of Beatrix Potter.
Made very much in the style of the 18th-Century.
The rim with outer and inner raised ridges encompasses a shallow bowl. Verso, the base is inscribed "Burr yew from the Lakes, by R Samuel Cartwright 2001".
We have not been able to trace the maker.
This is beautifully turned and would look lovely on a sideboard or table in both a period home or contemporary setting.
Provenance - Found in East Anglia. Maker detailed above.
Condition - There are some minor surface marks, more so to the underside of the base. Please refer to the images. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
