A large naive 16th-Century antique carved wooden Corpus Christi mounted on its original wooden cross with the depiction standing in excess of 1 metre in height.
Continental origin.
With substantial remains of its original polychromy.
This figure displays well.
Provenance - Ex-private Swedish collection.
Condition - Surface wear is commensurate with age. Please refer to the images. The Corpus is missing his right hand from the wrist upwards. Part of the left hand is missing. There are surface abrasions to the torso and chips to the polychrome. Please remember this figure is close to 500 years old. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
