An early 19th-Century Italian antique carved wooden plaque in original gesso and polychrome portraying the Doge of Venice and it's symbol, the winged lion of Saint Mark.
Made for the "grand tour" market of the period.
Verso - the panel beard an old collectors label.
Provenance - Acquired directly from a private Italian collection.
Condition - As per the images. There is minor surface wear commensurate with age. The panel still displays well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
