An early 17th-century diminutive iron, Nuremberg-made, antique table top casket/strongbox. In original condition.
The front is applied with a decorative escutcheon, the top with an applied floral decoration made from iron, flanked by a carry handle.
The box opens to reveal an interior void of any fittings.
The front lock does function with the use of an associated period key (image not supplied).
Supported overall on four original ball feet.
Provenance: Germany. 17th century.
Condition: There is age-related wear to the surface of the box. Please refer to the images for further reference. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
