A Late 18th-Century/early 19th-Century English antique oak longcase clock originating from Easingwold, North Yorkshire.

The hood with shaped swan-neck pediment with a central brass ball finial, over a single glazed door, flanked either side by plain columns. Below, the case with shaped throat, elongated door, the outer edge decorated with inlaid mahogany veneer, and a plinth base supported by ogee bracket feet.

With a 30 hour movement with an hourly strike on a bell and driven by a single weight on a rope. Regulated by an elongated pendulum. The painted arched dial with flowers to the top and decorative corner spandrels in the form of seashells and a chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals and an hour and minute hand. The dial bears the inscription "Jn. Parker, Easingwold."

Provenance - Previously sold by Page's of Ibstock, Leicestershire, England. The business was well known for many years specialising in the restoration, repair and maintenance of antique clocks. It ceased to trade a number of years ago. This clock was acquired by us directly from the vendor who had purchased the clock from Page's during the 1990's.

Condition - Please refer to the images. Offered for sale with the movement in untested, "as found," condition. Our sale price of £1450 + shipping reflects this. A full re-bush of the movement, with a 12-month warranty against mechanical failure is available at an extra cost of £1000 + VAT (total including movement = £2650 + delivery). The case has some general marks and wear commensurate with age. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
