Discover a rare and authentic 19th-century cast iron coffee mill by J & J Siddons of West Bromwich, a name synonymous with Victorian-era ironware and 19th-century English industrial design. Founded in 1846, Siddons became renowned for their precision-cast domestic tools, combining industrial durability with elegant design.
This substantial piece, bearing the original maker's identification plate, features a cast iron body, brass hopper, and original drawer knob, with a warm patina that reflects its age and use. It remains in good working order, making it ideal for display or functional use in a heritage kitchen or curated interior.
Condition - Good overall, with a smooth-operating drawer and crank mechanism, cast-iron construction and brass detailing. It also benefits from two lugs, cast to the base plate, to enable the grinder to be screwed securely to the kitchen countertop.
Provenance - Unknown. Found in East Anglia, England.
