About The Artist:

Gillis Van Tilborg The Younger was a notable Dutch painter and engraver, recognized for his contributions to the art scene during the Dutch Golden Age. Born in Amsterdam, he was the son of a prominent artist and developed a keen interest in art from a young age. Tilborg is best known for his detailed genre scenes and landscapes that often reflected everyday life and nature. His works were characterized by vibrant colors and meticulous attention to detail, capturing the essence of his subjects with a unique perspective. Despite facing challenges in his career, including competition and the fluctuating art market, Tilborg's legacy endures through his significant contributions to Dutch Baroque art. Condition - Offered for sale unframed. Relined and restored historically. There is surface craquelure and some abrasions to the paint surface commensurate with age (please refer to the images). The painting continues to display well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
