An Apprentice Piece - A 19th Century English Antique Miniature Dresser, Circa 1890
A 19thC English antique pine miniature dresser base, circa 1890. Possibly an apprentice piece or made for a child.
The pine (deal) carcass has been scumbled to imitate a more expensive timber, most probably mahogany.
With a shaped backboard and single shelf above a plank top with moulded edge, over an arrangement of seven drawers, each with their original glass handles. The drawers are made with both dovetailed joints and nails.
The dresser is supported on five turned feet.
Provenance - Unknown.
Condition - As per the images. There is some minor surface wear commensurate with age. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
Size (including the back board) - W 40 cm x H 37 cm x D 17 cm (15 5/8" x 14 1/2" x 6 3/4")
