A rustic 19th-century English antique tavern table with a planked rectangular top above X-frame supports united by a pegged stretcher. The timber is dry and tactile, with surface wear, historic marks, and traces of use consistent with its working life in a public house or farmhouse setting.
The proportions are generous and practical, with a sculptural silhouette and honest construction. The pegged joints and X-frame legs suggest vernacular craftsmanship, while the patina and wear lend character and authenticity.
A rare survival of English country furniture — ideal for collectors of rustic antiques, farmhouse interiors, or sculptural utility pieces.
Provenance: England. 19th century.
