A rare and unusual early 17th Century antique carved wooden sculpture depicting an armoured glove, also known as a gauntlet, with its original polychromy.
Continental in origin.
Finely detailed down to the articulated pieces of the fingers!
Presented on a later perspex stand of circular form.
Condition - Minor losses to the polychrome.The tip of the forefinger is missing and part of the thumb tip too. The end of the little finger tip has been re-attached. All-in-all, the carving displays very well and would make a great addition to a collection of early arms and armour or a gentleman's library collection.
