An 18th-Century style, English-made earthenware, comb-decorated, slipware loaf dish or baking dish.
Made by the studio potter Andrew Watts and bearing his pottery mark verso of "Lannock Pottery, Weston, Hertfordshire". Watts commenced working as a potter in Lavender Hill, London, England in 1976. He moved his studio from London to Weston in 1981 and continued to produce hand-made wares until the mid-1990's when his pottery finally closed.
This example is decorated in underglaze brown and ochre slip on an earthenware body.
We are now offering for sale two of his rarer works in slipware which are more sought after than his other works produced in alternative forms, mediums and glazes.
Provenance - Sourced locally within East Anglia, England.
Condition - Very good. There are no chips or cracks. Please refer to the images. The dish displays very well.
