18th-Century French Antique Chestnut Chest / Dough Bin - Ideal For Storage

A late 18th-Century French antique chest constructed from chestnut.
Originally used as a dough bin with a dual purpose: (1) to store the raw ingredients to make bread; and (2) store the dough once made to allow it to prove (rise) before baking.
With a plank lid over a front with elongated fielded panel, raised on decorative bracket-stile feet. The lid opens to reveal an interior void of any fittings.
Provenance - Acquired directly from a private property in Norwich, England where is was used for storing toys in a child's playroom. The previous owner had acquired this in France many years ago when living abroad.
Condition - Please refer to the images. Good overall. This chest/bin offers an ideal storage solution be it in a modern interior or period home. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
