A characterful 18th‑century English wrought‑iron candleholder, hand‑forged and mounted into a solid wooden block base.
The iron arm curves gracefully outward to support a cylindrical candle socket, its surface rich with hammer marks and deep patina. This primitive yet sculptural form reflects rural domestic lighting of the Georgian period, when simple materials were combined for practical use.
The wooden block retains its original aged surface, complementing the iron’s dark tone. A rare and evocative survivor of English vernacular craftsmanship — both utilitarian and decorative, perfect for collectors of early lighting or interiors seeking authentic 18th‑century texture.
