A sculptural and evocative 18th-century English iron hanging loom light candlestick, forged with a shaped hook, elongated stem, and single conical candle socket. This primitive lighting device would have been suspended from a beam or loom frame, providing focused illumination for textile work or domestic tasks.
The ironwork is hand-forged with visible hammer marks and a rich, oxidised patina. Its utilitarian form reflects the vernacular traditions of rural England, where function and simplicity defined everyday objects. The conical socket is designed to hold a taper candle securely, while the hook allows for flexible placement in workspaces or hearthside settings.

Condition: Good as per the images. There is surface wear and pitting to the iron surface which is commensurate with age.
