A lovely antique carved oak letter rack of five plank construction in the 17thC revival style seen during the later 19thC.
English origin.
The shaped pediment is decorated with scrolls, flowers, swags, and guilloche. The sides are carved with flowers, vines, foliage, and swags, the right side bearing the words "Anno", and the left side bearing a date of "1895". The reticulated front is heavily carved with a swag and wreath flanked with cherubs and terms, terminating on a gadrooned-carved plinth base.
There is adequate space to accommodate a number of large envelopes.
