An usually tall / large brass socket candlestick.
16th-century. Flemish origin.
With a plain socket (no ejection aperture) over an elongated baluster and knopped stem, supported on a spun bell base.
The brass shows minor imperfections in the alloy as one would expect for a genuine piece rather than a later copy.
Provenance - Unknown
Condition - Please refer to the images.Good overall. Wear is commensurate with age. The stem has been re-secured to the base with a later repair, namely a nut to provide additional firmity. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
