A 17th-century English antique oak child's high chair.
Peg-joined construction.
The cresting rail is decorated with "S" scrolls and stylised acanthus leaf, flanked with turned finials above a carved panelled back. With shaped arms and turned arm supports above the original plank seat, with lunette carved frieze below and supported on four legs, the front two turned and the back two of rectangular elongated form.
The left arm is stamped with an inverted "CK", possibly the maker's initials or that of the child.
Excellent colour and patination.
Condition - very good as per the images. All joints are sound. A detailed condition report is available upon request.
