A 16th-Century "style" English antique oak boarded stool reminiscent of those made during the reign of Henry VIII.
Believed to have been made as a "Wardour Strèet" copy in the 19th-century by a furniture maker based in Wardour Street, London.
Original 16th-Century stools of the period are incredibly rare and expensive to acquire This is a stool for those that want that period look but want something within a more reasonable budget.
Peg-joined construction. This stool has been constructed from 16th-century oak timbers.
The plank seat with moulded edge over a shaped supporting apron. Supported by slightly splayed cut-out end boards.
Superb colour and patination.
Provenance - Ex-private collection of the former owners of Heath Farm Antiques, Bedfordshire, England.
