An English antique candle stand or lace-makers table originating from Cornwall. Sourced privately.
Early 19th Century.
With shaped plank top above a single turned column supported with "stool" type base on four legs.
This stand is charming and has been made from various timbers from oak planks for the top to a walnut column (from what would appear to be a recycled leg to a gateleg table!), the bottom "stool" support being made of varying timbers including ash.
Condition - all original aside from the block support to the top (made from pine) which is a later replacement although it does have a degree of age in its own right. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
