A late 17thC / early 18thC antique burrwood veneered box.
Continental origin.
The box is constructed from deal (pine) with applied burrwood veneers. The burrwood appears to be cut from the alder tree.
With functioning lock and key. With the original escutcheon and hinges and till (candlebox).
This box displays incredibly well.
Condition: Please refer to the images. The veneer to the lid has had a minor crack but has been stabilised. A minor piece of moulding is missing. The ebonised ball feet have been sympathetically replaced historically. The box is as good as it looks and displays very well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
