One of my own collection which I am now looking to sell.
A late 16th Century English antique oak tavern table of joined construction.
This table has never been touched since the day it was made some 440 plus years ago!
The plank top was clearly made from green oak at the time of construction. It has warped and split as it has seasoned and that, in my opinion, as a collector and dealer, adds to its charm!
With a single plank top over a moulded apron, supported on four turned legs united by peripheral stretchers.
Provenance - Ex Robin Dunkley collection.
Condition - As per the images. All joints are sound. This is a fully usable piece of furniture. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
