Constructed from toleware with applied brass decoration, lobbed canopy and leather-bound carry handle, the candle aperture, with a single candle sconce which, rotates to become closed.
Dutch origin. Late 17thC, circa 1680.
Clearly made for a wealthy individual given the quality of workmanship and materials used with this piece.
Condition – as per the images. Some surface wear is commensurate with age. There are some traces of metal polish residue to the outer surface which has built up over time. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
