Rare Late16th Century / Early 17th Century German Antique Iron Nuremberg-Made Miniature Table Casket / Strongbox

A rare late 16th Century / early 17th Century miniature iron, Nuremberg-made, antique table top casket / strongbox. In original condition.

The external surfaces are painted.

The front decorated with the annunciation of Christ’s birth as told by the Angel Gabriel to the young Madonna and the sides and reverse with flowers.

The front applied with a faux escutcheon, the top with a central strap concealing the keyhole which opens to reveal a complicated engraved mechanism.

Condition – There is age related wear to the surface of the box. Please refer to the images for further reference. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
