Description
A mid-18thC Welsh antique oak low boy or side table dating back to the reign of King George II, circa 1740.
The plank top with a moulded edge over an arrangement of three drawers (one elongated and two of smaller size), with a shaped apron below, supported on four cabriole legs terminating on pad feet.
With its original brass handles and escutcheon.
Superb colour and patination. Tables of this calibre with original handles are getting much harder to find.
Condition – the majority of this table is original and dates back to the time it was made! The runners (made of oak) appear to have been replaced historically. The linings to the large top drawer and left smaller drawer are original throughout. The base of the smaller right drawer appears to have been replaced at some point during its life.
