Description
A mid 17thC German antique stoneware bellarmine jug or bartmannkrug, circa 1650.
In typical brown “tiger glaze”.
The elongated neck decorated with a typical bearded mask. The bulbous body lacks any medallion.
Condition – as per the images. With traces of restoration to the string rim and neck and handle. The base has also been re-attached. Please refer to the images. and part of the body. The jug displays very well.
