Mid 16th Century and Later, English Antique Oak Church Pew Attributed to The West Country

A rare find!

A 16thC and later (later = with 19thC alterations) English antique oak church pew.

Attributed to the West Country, one 16th Century pew end is heavily carved with a stylised beast over blind gothic tracery which incorporates lancets. The other pew end is again 16th Century but of plain form.

The two ends are united by a combination of a 16th Century moulded rail over a 19th Century bench which has been constructed from planks and shaped spandrels below.

Condition of the pew – as per the images. Surface wear is commensurate with age. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
