Late 18th Century Primitive English Antique Brass “Hog Scraper” Candlestick
A late 18th Century English antique brass candlestick of primitive form.
The sconce and stem formed from a single rolled sheet of brass with “rise and fall” aperture and shaped hanging hook; below a circular drip pan with raised/flared rim, supported on a turned wooden base.
Condition – As per the images. There is some surface wear commensurate with age. An old solder repair has been undertaken at the base of the stem where it meets the drip pan. The wooden base has aged-related losses and traces of old, inactive, worm. This has been treated as a precautionary measure. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
