An 18th Century English / Scottish antique peerman.
The sprung iron drawers are of sufficient tension to hold a fir cone which, would have been dipped in tallow or animal fat, allowed to dry and then ignited to produce light.
Supported on a turned wooden base of good colour.
Condition – good. There is some age related surface pitting to the iron and minor losses to the turned wooden base but all-in-all this item has a great look about it. An additional condition report is available upon request.
