Late 18th Century English Antique Treen Bowl

An 18th Century antique treen bowl. Possibly turned from elm.  This may have been used originally to hold coins, i.e. as a merchant’s or retailer’s “till” given its form where, the raised sides and rim aid its use for such a purpose.

English origin.

Lovely patination and colour.

Condition – Good – There is one minor age-related split to the rim and some very minor paint splatters to the internal surface of the bowl. Please refer to the images.  A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
