Late 17th Century English Antique Toleware / Tin Lantern


A 17th Century English antique toleware (tin) lantern.

Constructed from sheet metal, the top with a circular hanger above a cone-shaped pediment with an open flue. The cylindrical body with a single door opens to reveal an interior with a single candle sconce. Decorated throughout with punched apertures to enable candlelight to illuminate from the lantern.

Condition – as per the images. Some surface wear is commensurate with age. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.

Size: Height 28 cm (11″) including hanging hoop.
