A lovely late 17thC / early 18thC antique carved pine plaque.

English origin.

Carved as a ‘Green Man’-type mask with open mouth, his tongue protruding and, acanthus leaves representing hair.

With small traces of original gesso and polychrome.

The carving has been mounted on a board covered with 17th century glazed linen.

Condition – Please refer to the images. Some surface wear is apparent commensurate with age. The plaque displays very well. A further condition report is available upon request.
