A late 15thC Gothic antique carved oak sculpture of The Virgin Mary & Child.
German origin.
Portrayed, unusually, with Christ in her right hand. The sculpture is presented in its original polychromy.
Condition – as per the images. There is age-related surface wear. The rear of The Virgin’s head has a loss where her crown may have once been situated but is now lost and her left hand is missing. The carving displays very well. A further detailed condition report is available upon request.
